Overview
Skedlii lets you plan and schedule posts to Twitter (X) just like you do for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads — all from one place.
Once connected, you can write tweets, upload images or videos, preview how they’ll look, and schedule them to publish automatically.
Supported Features
- Schedule posts for one or more connected X (Twitter) accounts
- Post text, links, images, or short videos
- Create multi-post threads (coming soon in staged rollout)
- Track post status and view your activity log
- Reconnect safely if your account token expires
Connecting Your Account
- Go to Dashboard → Social Accounts and click Connect Twitter.
- Sign in with your Twitter (X) account and grant permissions.
- Skedlii securely stores your access token — only for posting and reading basic profile info.
- Once connected, your account will show as Active.
If you later revoke access from Twitter’s settings, you’ll just need to reconnect in Skedlii. Your posts and drafts remain safe.
What You Can Post
- Text only posts (up to 280 characters)
- Posts with 1–4 images
- Posts with 1 video (up to 2 minutes 20 seconds)
- Posts with links — Twitter automatically shortens them using t.co
Want to post longer text? Write the main hook in your tweet and link to a blog post or media piece. Skedlii’s preview helps you keep messages concise and clear.
Posting Rules and Limits
Character Limit
- 280 characters maximum per tweet.
- URLs take up ~23 characters automatically.
- Emojis count as 2 characters each.
Skedlii includes a live character counter and preview, so you can edit before hitting schedule.
Media Rules
- Images: Up to 4 per post (JPG, PNG, or WebP; max 5MB each).
- Videos: MP4 (H.264) or MOV; max 512MB, under 2m 20s.
- You can post either a video or up to 4 images — not both in the same tweet.
Scheduling and Automation
When you schedule a tweet, Skedlii queues it securely in your workspace.
At the exact time you chose, it publishes via Twitter’s API and logs the status in your dashboard.
If something prevents posting (e.g., expired token or rate limit), you’ll see a clear notice in your Activity Log, with an option to retry once fixed.
Token Expiry and Reconnection
Twitter tokens occasionally expire for security reasons — especially if:
- You revoke app access manually
- The token hasn’t been used in 30+ days
- Twitter enforces a new security update
When that happens:
- Skedlii marks your account as Expired
- Scheduled posts are temporarily paused
- You’ll see a Reconnect button in Social Accounts
Click Reconnect, complete the quick authorization, and you’re good to go.
No posts or drafts will be lost.
Rate Limits (from Twitter)
Twitter sets posting and refresh limits to keep the platform stable.
Skedlii automatically spaces out your actions to stay within these safe ranges.
Typical limits include:
- Posting tweets: About 300 posts every 3 hours per account
→ Skedlii automatically spreads out your scheduled posts to stay within limits. - Refreshing tokens: Around 15 refreshes every 15 minutes per app
→ Skedlii uses a smart refresh queue to keep your connection stable.
If a rate cap is hit, Skedlii simply delays posting for a short while and shows a small “Rate Limit” message in your logs — nothing to worry about.
Common Issues and Fixes
❌ “Post failed – token invalid”
Your token likely expired.
→ Go to Settings → Social Accounts → Reconnect and re-authorize.
❌ “Exceeded media limit”
You tried uploading more than 4 images or mixed video + images.
→ Choose 1 video or up to 4 images, not both.
❌ “Over 280 characters”
The post is too long.
→ Use Skedlii’s character counter or preview to shorten text.
❌ “Account already connected”
This happens if you reconnect an already-linked account.
→ Skedlii now supports refreshing the token automatically — just click Reconnect once.
Best Practices
- Reconnect every few weeks to stay ahead of silent expirations.
- Keep text concise — one clear message per tweet performs best.
- Use visuals (images, short clips) to improve engagement.
- Spread out your posts — avoid sending many at once to prevent rate limits.
- Track performance inside Skedlii’s analytics once available.
